WHAT IS "EL CARIZAL?"
El Carizal is a small community 6.5km south of
San Juan del Sur. The community comprises about 50 homes
or families and about 250 people.
The community sits in a
distinct valley, making it a well delineated community. The
people there rely essentially on subsistence farming of beans,
corn and sorghum, and fishing or seafood gathering at the sea
which is about two kilometers away from the center of the village. Very few
of the residents have jobs and there is little opportunity in the
area of any type of advancement. We hope to help improve the Carizalans' situation.

Our “El Carizal” is a ~200 acre parcel smack in the middle of the
community of El Carizal property. The land comprises Arriba Verde
to the south and the Casa Llanta area (known locally as the
“Chanchera”) to the north. Arriba Verde hosts large (~2-3 acre) off-grid lots with beautiful ocean and valley views.
